Traces of You

Today is my birthday, so I thought I’d be productive and start a new year of life the right way: by entering a t-shirt contest. See the original sketch after the jump. I really enjoy the loose edges of the sketch more than the finite yet abstract swirls of the “final,” which is not really final at all. (You can see my clear reference to Mucha, yes? It’s supposed to be some kind of artistic statement that will sound pretentious and terrible, so you’re not getting one.) I plan on doing a painterly one at some point. Probably not today. I do have to make cake pops, after all.

We all want to leave a trace of us behind. Something meaningful. But even history is ephemeral.
